RA Showcase
These RAs have been recognized by their peers for going above and beyond in their RA role!
Edith White is a 2nd year RA at Lyon Tower and is majoring in Biology. She has been an invaluable resource to Lyon Tower through her creative program planning and grounded personality. She can always be counted on to go above and beyond for her friends and coworkers. Edith is always there when a resident or coworker is having a rough day. You can tell that Edith truly cares for her residents through her interactions with them anywhere on campus. Edith is always looking for ways that she can become a better RA and learn new skills, like attending the SSLI Conference and RA In-Services. Edith is a key player on the Lyon Tower staff and will be greatly missed when she graduates this spring.
Joe Cain is a first year RA in Oakland Hall West and is majoring in Exercise Physiology. He is great at teaching his residents about life skills, including laundry and cleaning. He shows off his creative side by putting in extra effort for bulletin boards and floor meeting signs. Joe is a great pal to all those on staff and helps the RAs de-stress with great massages. Joe also loves to umpire baseball games and grow a beard on his free time. Hymnmmmmnmm.
Sarah Haslebacher has been an RA in Lyon Tower for three years. She is graduating this May with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Sarah is always looking out for her residents and enjoys making interactive boards to get her residents involved. Sarah is a terrific coworker who you can count on to not only get things done but to also go above and beyond for both her residents and her staff. Lyon Tower will not be the same without her next year.
Paige Fackler is a junior Management Information Systems major with a minor in statistics and has been an RA for two years at Boreman Hall. She loves anything dark chocolate, is part of the Field Hockey team, and is always there for her friends. She can talk to anyone about anything and has one of those personalities that people just gravitate to. Paige will always be there when you need her and is one of the best RAs that I know.
Ian Janos is a 2nd year RA in Lyon Tower who is majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Ian is a friend to all. He is always there when you need him, no matter what he may be going through himself. Ian puts his best foot forward when it comes to his residents and you can count on him to always leave a situation better than he found it. “He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
Ivy Patrick has the greatest, most memorable personality of anyone I have ever met. She radiates sunshine, comfort, and genuine welcome. I think she could change the ways of a psychopath with her smile. Most of all she is phenomenal at her job. Her residents trust her and her staff depends on her for her vibrant laugh and joy she brings to each conversation. She is a senior public health and nursing major.
Jacob Bauer is a 2nd year RA at Lyon Tower. From the start of the semester Jacob has been enthusiastic about his job and is always there to crack a joke when someone is feeling down. Jacob is an avid football fan and has taken the time to organize a fantasy football league for his floor (with the help of his co). Jacob is a person who knows how to work hard and have fun while doing it. He is a good friend to all.
Emily Icard is a third year RA at Seneca, after serving the last two years at the late Arnold Hall. Emily has consistently demonstrated her leadership abilities in her excellent programs (such as Sex Jeopardy and the Roommate Game), concern for residents, and successful management of community service clubs. She goes above and beyond in bringing her staff together, a service which has proved invaluable, especially this year transitioning to a new home. Finally, Emily has managed to intertwine her love of animals (as an animal and nutrition science major), by bringing in Homeward Bound WV for a successful meet-and-greet with residents last year, raising awareness about local shelter animals in need. Known for her wit, humor, and love of farm life and country music, Seneca Hall is fortunate to call her one of our own.
Jacqueline Costello is a 4th year RA at Boreman Hall and is in her Master's program of Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone who asks. She has a keen sense of spotting those who are hurting and knows exactly what to say to make them feel better. The best part about Jacqueline is her sense of humor and sarcasm!
Jacob Smith is a 4th year RA from Bennett Tower on the Evansdale Campus. He is graduating in May with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Jacob loves helping residents and answering all of their questions. Jacob has been a great resource for the new staff members this year and is always willing to step up when someone asks for help, even if it's after midnight. Thank you for all of your hard work, Jacob!
